Psychodiagnostic (Diagnostic) Evaluations

A psychodiagnostic evaluation is a comprehensive psychological assessment designed to understand an individual’s mental health, cognitive functioning, and emotional well-being. These evaluations use a combination of clinical interviews, standardized psychological testing, behavioral observations, and questionnaires to gather detailed information about symptoms, behavior patterns, and personal history.

The goal of a psychodiagnostic evaluation is to clarify whether psychological conditions such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, or other mental health concerns may be present. In addition to identifying potential diagnoses, these assessments help develop a clearer understanding of an individual’s strengths, challenges, and patterns of functioning.

Psychodiagnostic evaluations at The Psy Center help guide treatment planning and recommendations, which may include therapy, consultation with medical providers regarding medication, educational supports, or other interventions. By providing a structured and thorough understanding of mental health concerns, these evaluations help create a more personalized and effective plan for care.

Psychodiagnostic evaluations are available for adolescents and adults in Seattle and may also be conducted in Bremerton for individuals living throughout the Kitsap Peninsula and greater Puget Sound region.

Psychodiagnostic evaluations may be recommended when individuals are experiencing complex or longstanding mental health concerns and are seeking diagnostic clarity.
